Macro Metrics Users Guide
The Macro Metrics dashboard provides comprehensive market analysis across multiple dimensions:
- EOD Metrics: End-of-Day summary of the entire market
- Sector Metrics: Market data organized by sectors and industries
- NYSE Metrics: New York Stock Exchange specific data
- NASDAQ Metrics: NASDAQ exchange specific data
- AMEX Metrics: American Stock Exchange specific data
Summary Statistics
- One Share Sum: Total sum of one share of each stock/ticker
- Volume: Total volume across all tickers
- Tickers: Number of unique tickers included
- Avg PPS: Average price per share
- Avg VPT: Average volume per ticker
Color Coding Modes
- Simple +/-: Gradual color progression (±1 step per change) - Best for low volatility trends
- .5% Min +/-: Moderate color jumps (0.5% = 1 step, max 3) - Best for price columns
- .5% to 10%: Tiered thresholds (1-10 steps) 0.5% → 1 Step, 1.5% → 2 Steps, 3% → 3 Step, 5% → 5 Steps, 10%+ → 10 Steps Max
Navigation
- Click any main tab (EOD, Sector, NYSE, NASDAQ, AMEX) to view that data set
- For exchange-specific tabs, click a sector to see its data
- Click industry buttons to drill down into specific industries
Auto-Refresh
- Data automatically refreshes every 5 minutes
- Use the pause button to stop auto-refresh
- Countdown timer shows time until next refresh
Pulse Mode
- Enable "Pulse" to highlight recent data changes
- Adjust pulse interval (2-12 seconds) to control refresh speed
Data Timeframes
All metrics display the most recent 504 trading days (~2 years) of data, divided into two cards showing 252 days each (approximately 1 year per card).
